My Training
I am a Psychotherapist with full clinical membership of The UK Council for Psychotherapy. I studied a Research Masters Degree for seven years with Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling a leading teaching institute, providing me with a very in-depth training.
During my training I was required to attend weekly therapy sessions myself. This gave me a full insight into what it is like to be a client. The length and depth of training allowed me to build extensive experience of working with clients, along with a deep understanding of approaches which are effective in supporting change in our lives.
I continue to add to my expertise as a psychotherapist through ongoing therapy training and I adhere to the code of ethics and practice as set out by UKCP.
My Background
I have been a practising psychotherapist/counsellor in Somerset since 2012. I have also worked for the counselling department of The University of the West of England.
I have an honours degree in Fine Art, and have used my creative background in a range of health and education settings, including supporting the activity team at Bristol Children's Hospital. Previously I worked in early years education and special needs. I also provided art and creative activities as part of curriculum enrichment for Somerset primary schools, with an emphasis on their therapeutic value for those with extra needs. My background interests include wildlife and nature and their therapeutic value in our lives.
